1. Program Introduction
Editor Notes: In this program students acquire expertise in the processing of food combines with a thorough understanding of the biogenesis of raw materials and their microbiological ecology.
Modern food processing is concerned with the transformation of plant based and animal based raw materials into value added, safe and stable food, or nutrient formula.
The postgraduate in Food Science and Engineering is research-oriented and focuses on the interface between complex food matrices and technical processes in the development and production of food.

The school consists of Department of Food Science & Engineering, Department of Food Quality & Safety, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Bioengineering, Laboratory Center of Food & Bioengineering, National R&D Center of Agricultural Product Processing Equipments, Jiangsu Research Center of Bio-processing and Separation of Agricultural Products, and Jiangsu Provincial Key Lab of Physics Process of Agricultural Products.

*5. Original or Notarized Degree Certificates
Original or notarized copies of all degree certificates starting from the undergraduate level. Current graduates should provide a pre-graduation certificate issued by their universities (graduation date should be before February 29, 2024). The original degree certificates must be submitted upon registration.
*6. Original or Notarized Transcripts
Transcripts for all courses taken starting from the undergraduate level.
Academic transcript in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.*7. CV
Include a chronological list of educational experiences from the undergraduate level onward. Applicants with previous educational experiences in China should include all study experiences.
*8. Foreigner Physical Examination Form
Applicants must undergo a medical examination following the items listed in the form. The examination results are valid for 6 months.
9. List and Abstracts of Published Academic Papers.
*10. Financial Statement
Either the family deposit certificate, property certificate or parent/guardian income certificate with a recommended minimum value of $5,000 USD or equivalent.
*11. Two Recommendation Letters
Either Chinese or English and signed by associate professors or professors in a relevant field.
*12. Study Plan
At least 800 words, include details about applicants' educational and work background, academic achievements, research plans, and personal development goals. Ph.D. applicants should also provide a detailed academic research plan.
13. Supporting Documents: Certificate of Good Conduct
Provided by your current/previous school/company in Chinese/English to improve your success rate.
